I know where my corners are, can you mark the lines between them?
I know where some of my corners are, come out and show me the others!
I don't need a map, just find my corners!

These are without a doubt the most commonly asked questions. While the objects you have found likely mark the boundaries of your land, there is no way we can assume that to be the case without verification. There are exceptions for large tracts, but this usually involves surveying the entire parcel and possibly adjoining lands. Wisconsin has adopted minimum standards that clearly define what constitutes a legal survey and the preparation of a map is required without exception.

Minimum Standards for Property Surveys

Do you survey during the winter months?

Yes! We are fully equipped with four-wheel drive vehicles, all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles and if need be, snowshoes to complete your project regardless of weather. It should be noted that surveys performed in mid-winter require more time to complete, and as a result are more costly.

Will you use GPS to survey my property?

If it will save us time thereby saving you money... yes! GPS has revolutionized the way surveyors work, but it's not the right tool in every situation. We will employ the technology that will complete your survey as quickly and efficiently as possible without sacrificing the quality of the work performed.

Why should I hire you to survey my land? There are others that can complete the work at less cost!

Regardless of cost, it's unquestionably in your best interest to retain a surveyor whose ability you respect and trust. A low-cost, faulty survey can lie undetected only to result in possible litigation years down the road. This is not a good way to meet your new neighbors!

We are willing to provide a list of several satisfied clients upon request.

I would like a quote on a survey, what now?

We need to know how your land is described! This could be something as simple as a lot number and subdivision name or it could be several metes and bounds descriptions. Regardless, there is simply no way to provide an accurate estimate of the cost of the survey without this information.

The best source of this information is "Schedule A" of a current "Commitment for Title Insurance" (Title Commitment). If possible, also include "Schedule B" as it contains additional information that will aid in the preparation of the quote.

Also acceptable is a copy of the current deed of the parcel in question. Abbreviated descriptions from assessment notices or real estate tax bills are not acceptable. We can research the information needed for a nominal fee.
